Justin Visits Gloucester House To Learn More About Its Support For People Recovering From Addiction

Local MP Justin Tomlinson has met with the Salvation Army to learn more about the work it does to support people recovering from addiction.

Justin visited the Gloucester House Rehabilitation Centre, a project run by The Salvation Army, which offers residential care and support for men with drug & alcohol addictions.

Gloucester House provides its residents with occupational support and life skills, as well as additional support – such as resettlement assistance for residents once they complete the program.

Justin met with a group of Gloucester House residents to discuss their backgrounds, their experience of Gloucester House and what improvement could be made to support those battling addiction.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “It was both interesting and enlightening to meet with the residents of Gloucester House. I was struck by the varied backgrounds the men had - from someone who had been in and out of prison, to a former teacher. It really shows that addiction doesn’t discriminate and can affect absolutely anyone. The work done by the Gloucester House team is life changing, and I was delighted to hear the residents say how positive they have found the program.”
