Justin Visits Open Door Centre To See Its Development

North Swindon MP, and former Minister of State for Disabled People Justin Tomlinson visited the Open Doors Centre, attached to Saint Barnabas Church Hall in Gorse Hill.

Justin has been a long-time supporter of the Open Door Centre since his election in 2010. Since then the work of the Centre has grown to over 100 members, operating for over 35 years in the local area.

The Open Door Centre serves those in Swindon and its surrounding areas with learning, physical difficulties and mental health issues. It enables all to reach their full potential. It operates like a hub providing food, support, and activities. Members can: enjoy trips, swimming lessons & the Centre has an award winning Choir!

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “The work done by the Open Door Centre is amazing! I’ve seen the impact it has on member’s lives both as the local MP and as the Minister of State for Disabled People.

As with many local charities, the annual fundraising can be a real challenge. I will be working with them to both support their latest round of grant requests and to help promote their fund-raising activities. They are a real asset to our local community and we must all do our bit to support them.”

Please note the next fundraising event is the Swindon Community Choral Festival being held on Sunday 12th June 2022 at the Swindon Bowl, Town Gardens. Entry is free, with the Open Door providing the teas, coffees etc to raise funds.
