Justin Tomlinson MP welcomed the announcement by the Department for Transport of a £2.9 million grant to improve Bruce Street Bridges.
The money comes from the Government's Local Pinch Points Fund, designed to alleviate congestion at key pinch points in local areas.
The money is to turn the four mini-roundabouts into a single part-time signalised roundabout. There will also be a new signal controlled access to the Hawksworth Industrial Area which will redesign the road to make it more pedestrian and cyclist friendly.
Justin said "I am delighted that Swindon is getting this money to help relive congestion on our roads. The Bruce Street Bridges are a key pinch point and trying to get to North Swindon in rush hour can be a frustrating process and this funding will make a big difference in getting the traffic flowing."
