Justin Tomlinson MP has welcomed the Encouraging Women Into Franchising (EWIF) group to Parliament to meet with Treasury Minister, Nicky Morgan MP, to discuss the how the Government is working with franchise-holders.
EWIF seek to encourage women to consider buying a franchise, support women with existing businesses to franchise them and to help existing franchisors to attract more women into their franchise. During the visit the group discussed a number of issues ranging from the benefits of franchising, to business rate reform and entrepreneurial education for young people. Justin also had the opportunity to outline his work supporting small business in Parliament in his capacity as a Small Business Ambassador and the Vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Retail.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It was wonderful to welcome EWIF back to Westminster, this time to meet with to meet with the Minister (Nicky Morgan MP), to discuss how the Government is working with franchise owners to encourage people into work and promote the prospect of business ownership to a higher number of women. The Minister was very receptive to the ideas the group put forward and I was pleased that the Treasury understood what an important role franchising can play in giving employees greater flexibility in their work and ownership of a business".
