97% Of North Swindon Is Covered By Superfast Broadband Thanks To Work Of Local MP & Campaigners

North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has welcomed news that 97% of North Swindon now has access to superfast and fibre broadband.

Securing superfast and fibre broadband for everyone in North Swindon has been one of Justin’s longest running campaigns. Since he was elected in 2010 he has worked with many resident groups, including North & Rural Swindon Better Broadband, as well as local parish councillors Vinay Manro and Steve Heyes.

Thanks to endless meetings with both BT & Virgin, Justin Tomlinson MP & the Better Broadband group have been able to secure an extensive roll-out of superfast and fibre broadband across the Northern Sector.

Justin continues to have meetings to ensure that other areas of Swindon, including Stratton St Margaret, South Marston, Hannington and Stanton Fitzwarren can be included in future roll outs.

Superfast and fibre broadband will enable people to stream high definition films, music or enjoy gaming in different parts of the home simultaneously. It will also improve online access to new professional opportunities such as research, accessing job vacancies, and will make it easier to shop around for cheaper services.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I am delighted that things continue to move forward, and I am determined to ensure that even more progress is made to extend super-fast internet speeds across North Swindon. Increasing access to superfast and fibre broadband can have a huge benefit for Swindon – allowing people and businesses to operate quicker and more reliably.  As we have secured the extensive roll outs we have seen really strong take ups, which shows why this is such an important issue for fellow local residents and businesses.
