Justin Welcomes Students From Moredon & Rodbourne Cheney Schools To Parliament

North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has welcomed students from Moredon & Rodbourne Cheney schools to Parliament to discuss his role as their local MP and their ideas for Swindon.

The students enjoyed a tour of Parliament, taking in the House of Commons and House of Lords, as well as getting the opportunity to stand at the Government Despatch Box.

The tour was followed by an opportunity for the group to meet Justin where students could ask Justin anything about his role as an MP and what he does to represent them.

Justin also held a mock election for the group where three pupils, representing the 'Science', 'Spelling', and 'Maths' parties, made a pitch for why they thought their idea should win. Justin then 'interviewed' the students and put questions to them before the group had the opportunity to put their questions in a 'public hustings'. The group finally had the opportunity to vote, with the 'Science Party' candidate winning.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I want as many students from Swindon to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Parliament and see first-hand how it works. Welcoming students from Rodbourne Cheney & Moredon to Westminster was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn more about the work I do as their MP, and for me to hear their ideas".
