North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has written a letter of support for the Retail, Leisure & Hospitality sectors.
The letter to the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt called for the Business Rate Relief to remain at 75% when the Autumn Statement is announced later this week.
The Leisure, retail and hospitality has experienced a sustained period of pressure with higher energy bills and rising wage costs. The current business rate relief has provided a lifeline to many businesses in the leisure, retail, and hospitality sector, providing a vital lifeline as they face the current challenges.
Justin Tomlinson MP said “I spend a considerable amount of time visiting and working with local businesses in these sectors. They provide vital local jobs and opportunities for people to enjoy their free time - a key part of our town’s fabric.
Thank you to the many businesses who have always been kind enough to discuss cost pressures, challenges and opportunities. It is your feedback that encouraged me to support this campaign."
