North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson, hosted his first ‘Summer Activities Fair’ on Saturday 8th July.
As the school summer holidays approached, Justin was keen to provide parents and carers with ideas for ways to keep their children active. Local businesses and groups such as Draycott Sports Camp, GLL Better Leisure, Abbey Meads FC and Roves Farm joined Justin to showcase their ways to keep children suitably entertained.
Held at the Orbital Shopping Centre, the event was a great success and proved to be popular amongst local parents and organisations alike. Many parents left with brochures and leaflets from various providers and were signing children up to activities on the day.
Justin Tomlinson MP said “I was really excited to host Saturday’s event. With the summer holidays fast approaching we thought it would be a good idea to invite along a lot of different clubs and organisations who provide activities for kids throughout the holidays. The turn-out was great and I was pleased to see so many people leave with leaflets and discount booklets. I look forward to hosting a similar event next year and hope to see even more organisations and families attending”.
Details about next years’ event are yet to be confirmed but if you are interested in having a stand at the next event please get in touch and register your interest by emailing Justin via justin.tomlinson.mp@parliament.uk
