Local MP & Councillors Join Forces With Swindon Stroke Support Group

Local MP, Justin Tomlinson, paid a visit to the Swindon Stroke Support Group to give a talk on what it's like 'behind the scenes' in Parliament.

The charity goes to great lengths to support those who have suffered from strokes, as well as their relatives. They get together every Thursday evening  to chat, enjoy tea and biscuits, play cards, scrabble, bingo and sometimes even a quiz. They also organise local trips and holidays - all of which are appreciated by their members.

Justin was also joined by local Conservative councillors as they handed over the proceeds of their Christmas card, which was aimed to raise money for the charity. Justin and his wife Jo had also taken part in a bag packing fundraiser which was held just before Christmas at Waitrose.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "The Stroke Support Group is a fantastic local charity and I thoroughly enjoyed spending last Thursday evening with them. I hope the members enjoyed my 'behind the scenes' talk as much as I have enjoyed raising funds for this great cause."
