Local MP Encourages Fellow North Swindon Residents To Get Active & Enjoy Swindon's Parks

Local MP Justin Tomlinson has encouraged fellow local residents to get active through & enjoy Swindon's green spaces as part of the ParkLives programme.

ParkLives launched in 2014 in partnership with local authorities to deliver a long-term national programme of daily, free activity sessions in parks, running throughout the spring and summer months. Originally launching in Birmingham, Newham and Newcastle, the programme now operates through several major city partnerships across the UK, and it continues to grow.

The partnership creating a programme together from the grassroots up, tailored using local authority insights to engage local residents. Additionally, through a partnership with the Sports & Recreation Alliance and ukactive, ParkLives has also joined up with several of the national governing bodies of sport, inviting them to work with local authorities to deliver their sports in accessible ways.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "Having an active lifestyle forms an important part of being healthy. Across Swindon we have so many excellent parks & green spaces, and I'm encouraging fellow North Swindon residents to get out and enjoy them. Whether its a team sport or a long walk around Mouldon Hill Country Park, there's no better feeling than being active".
