Justin Tomlinson MP has praised the work of Care Home Volunteers in a meeting with Norman Edwards, the founder and chair of the organisation, and welcomed the further expansion of their operation into Swindon.
Care Home Volunteers are an organisation who are dedicated at highlighting the most valuable volunteers for work in the care sector. Their aim is to provide and train volunteers to work and assist in care homes, this includes; recruiting suitable candidates among local people, training and preparing them to work in homes with confidence, pairing candidates with care homes that complement their skills and talents, and providing on-going support for both the volunteers and the care homes.
The organisation since being founded by Norman Edwards has grown successfully across Wiltshire including branches in Salisbury and recently in Chippenham, as they begin to expand their work further afield, Swindon is a primary target.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I very much enjoyed being able to meet with Norman to discuss the plans Care Home Volunteer have for expanding into Swindon. Having hosted a celebration event for Swindon’s voluntary sector last year, I know that local people here in Swindon can help and benefit from the help that CHV offers and will look to do what I can as MP to support them going forward.”
Julian Kirby, Chief Officer of AgeUK Wiltshire said: “Age UK Wiltshire unreservedly endorses the work of Care Home Volunteers. The quality of their work is outstanding, combining professionalism in everything they do with an extraordinary compassion for older people.”
