Minister for Disabled People and MP for North Swindon, Justin Tomlinson, has presented the keys of a new Motability Scheme car to his constituent, Madge Trinder.
The presentation took place at Hyundai dealership Pebley Beach in Paddington Drive. Despite Madge, 76, having arthritis in one one shoulder and two hip replacements, she enjoys an active life in the community, and sees her new car as essential to remain mobile.
Madge collected the keys of a Hyundai i10 that she will lease for three years.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I am delighted to have presented Madge with the keys to her new Motability Scheme vehicle here in my constituency. As Minister for Disabled People I understand the importance of the Motability Scheme across the UK, so it’s fantastic to see first-hand how the Scheme supports those here in Swindon.”
Madge Trinder said: “The Motability Scheme is marvellous. Using my Disability Living Allowance to lease a new car on the Scheme is so much easier, as it means I can travel safely and in comfort. I enjoy being independent and Motability plays a big part in supporting me with this. My new car is a dream to drive. It has automatic transmission with power steering, which is wonderful as I sometimes have difficulty moving my arms.”
Dom Threlfall, Owner of Pebley Beach, said: "We're always here to offer a test drive and discuss how we can help you stay mobile. As well as friendly one-to-one advice from our specialists, you can also take advantage of some outstanding offers on a selection of our stylish, practical new cars. The very popular Hyundai i10 being just one of many we have on offer."
