Local MP Hosts Event To Help Recruit Care Home Volunteers

Justin Tomlinson, MP for North Swindon, welcomed Care Home Volunteers to his Community Office at the Orbital Shopping Park as it held a volunteer recruitment event.

The charity works to improve the quality of life for older people in care homes by recruiting volunteers to work with them, providing fun and friendship.

The event was held to promote the work it does and provide information for prospective volunteers.

Justin Tomlinson MP said “Loneliness among older people, even in care homes, is a huge problem. It is vital that we work hard to address this issue, and charities like Care Home Volunteers play a vital role in doing this. I fully support the work Care Home Volunteers are doing, and would encourage anyone who is interested in helping them to get in touch.”
