Local MP Joins Forces With Prospect Hospice To Highlight Vital Work Of Hospices Across The UK

Last week, North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson joined forces with Swindon Prospect Hospice and 200 other hospices across the UK to help raise public awareness around what hospice care is, and what it can mean to dying people in Swindon and their families.

Hospice UK is the national charity for hospice care which supports and champions the work more than 200 hospices across the country.

Justin joined other MPs in sharing what “hospice care is” and what it means to them, their families and the community.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “Hospice care is centred around the person. It is unique to the individual and those close to them, helping adults and children living with life-limiting illness to live life as fully as possible. I have worked closely with Swindon Prospect Hospice to help them raise funds and awareness for the valuable work that they do for our community.”

Antonia Bunnin, Director of Hospice Support and Development at national hospice care charity Hospice UK, said. “Hospice care is incredibly varied but always places the individual at its heart. There is so much that goes into the compassionate and person-centred care delivered by Swindon Prospect Hospice along with over 200 other hospices across the UK. It is the small, personal touches as well as the expert clinical care that makes what hospices do so special.”
