Local MP Joins Oakhurst School Students To Raise Funds For Comic Relief

Justin Tomlinson MP has joined students at Oakhurst Community Primary School to see their fantastic fundraising efforts for Red Nose Day, as well as talk about why raising money is so important.

Comic Relief is one of the largest charitable organisation in the UK. Since being founded 32 years ago, the charity through its two major campaigns; Red Nose Day and Sport Relief has raised over £1BN geared towards combating the root causes of poverty and social injustice in the UK and across the world. Most recently the charity has been expanding into more and more countries, as well as focusing the spotlight on other causes such as rights for disabled people and tackling domestic and elder abuse.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It's always a pleasure to visit Oakhurst Primary School to support their work and once again the students have stepped up to raise much-needed fund to tackle poverty and illness around the world."
