Local MP Learns More About Specialist Services During Visit To Hermitage Lane

Minister for Disabled People and North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has visited one of the home services in Swindon for people with complex physical and learning disabilities.

The home based on Hermitage Lane in North Swindon provides a comfortable and safe sanctuary for its residents who have each lived there for a number of years. They are now one of the country’s biggest providers of home based care.

The company is focused on delivering NHS or Local Authority funded continuing home care services, whilst also increasingly supporting its clients who are in receipt of their own personal budgets or whose care has been commissioned by an independent case manager and/or legal advocate.

Justin visited the home to chat to the residents, hear more about the work that Voyage Care is doing locally and see the high quality of care that is being provided.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “Hermitage Lane felt very homely and it was so nice to see that all of the residents had lived their together for a number of years. The care being provided really is great as the staff are dedicated to caring for the needs of each individual. I thoroughly enjoyed the homemade tea and cake too!”
