Justin Tomlinson has demonstrated his continued support for the girl guides as he joined volunteers at the Royal Wooten Bassett Academy to thank them for all of their recent hard work.
Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. The guides have Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section units across Wiltshire, providing activities for girls aged 5 and up. The aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental environment where girls can explore the issues they care about while enjoying new experiences and learning vital skills.
There are Guides across the UK and they are supported by over 100,000 dedicated volunteers.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I have long been a supporter of the girl guides as they provide fantastic opportunities for girls to try new activities and make life-long friends. Not only does it provide fun, but it equips youngsters with valuable skills that can be carried on throughout their lives. I was delighted to be given the opportunity to meet all of the local volunteers and thank them for their efforts in providing these opportunities for girls across Swindon.”
