Local MP Visits Swindon Offices Of Global Engineering Company AECOM

Justin Tomlinson MP has paid a visit to local employer AECOM, a global engineering, consulting and project management company for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Based in the town centre, AECOM employs 165 people locally and the Swindon office alone turns over a staggering £13.2 million each year. The company started out as British Rail and now operates in 150 countries across the world with over 500 offices, and 95,000 staff!

The company's famous projects globally includes the Olympic Stadium in Brazil and 1 World Trade Centre.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “It’s great to have such a big and prestigious company working here in Swindon. Not only that but the Swindon site is considered a centre of excellence for the manufacturing side of the company. My visit was a good opportunity to hear from the staff and ensure that the company’s future in Swindon is secure. It was therefore reassuring to hear that not only does AECOM want to continue with its office in Swindon, but that it is dedicated to growth here too.”
