Local MPs Welcome Greater Choice For Consumers During Handelsbanken Visit

Swindon MPs, Justin Tomlinson and Robert Buckland, have met with staff at the Swindon branch of Handelsbanken to discuss the companies work and its plans to grow its operations in the town.

Handelsbanken, which originates from Sweden, made Swindon the home of one of its first branches and since then the bank has opened 175 branches across the United Kingdom. The bank operates a Scandinavian model of maintaining a strong link between account holders and each bank manager. All decisions are made in-branch and this allows individual branches to manage their relationships with clients. 

During the visit, Justin and Robert learned more about the history of Handelsbanken's work in Swindon, its home at Windmill Hill Business Park and its plans for the future.

By operating a direct link between customer and bank manager, people from across Swindon who use the bank can build trust and confidence in its operations. Robert Buckland MP said: "It was fantastic to meet with staff from Handelsbanken and discuss their work.
