The Government has announcws that millions of UK households will receive £301 directly from the Department for Work and Pensions in the first Cost of Living Payment.
This is the first of three payments this year, which are worth up to £900 for those eligible and on means-tested benefits, such as Universal Credit or Pension Credit.
In addition to this, there will also be further a payment worth £150 for eligible disabled people. This means that across Swindon 23,800 households will be eligible for the means-tested Cost of Living Payments, and 19,400 individuals will be eligible for the Disability Cost of Living Payment.
