Battersea Dogs and Cats Home have launched the 'Westminster Purr Minister' competition to help raise the profile of their work in Parliament. MPs and Lords cats' have been nominated to take part in an online competition running until 13th February.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I am chuffed that my cat Montague "Monty" Tomlinson has been nominated for this inaugural competition. This is a fun way to help showcase the fantastic work Battersea do, and I know from having adopted my own rescue dog, Susie, just what a great job rescue centres do in re-homing unwanted pets".

“I have trained Justin & Jo to provide treats and attention on call. To keep them in check, I’ve formed a coalition with my sister Maggie and Susie the scruffy rescue dog. My interests are food, sleeping and miaowing loudly throughout the night which I think Justin & Jo appreciate.”
