North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson joined members of Enrych for The Great Get Together at his community office.
The Great Get Together is an annual event, which aims to tackle loneliness by encouraging communities to come together and celebrate all that unites us. It also celebrates the life and work of Jo Cox MP. This year marked the second anniversary of Jo's death and the second Great Get Together which Justin has hosted at his Community Office.
Enrych supports adults with disabilities to help them enjoy the most active and independent lives possible. The organisation brings together people with disabilities and volunteers, so they can share interests and help each other. To mark the event, Enrych service users and volunteers came together to enjoy a cup of tea and a few slices of cake.
Justin Tomlinson MP said “It was great to meet Enrych and find out more about the organisation – and enjoy a piece of cake, or two. Far too many people experience loneliness, and it is important that we come together as communities to socialise and engage with people who may be isolated - and events like The Great Get Together are a fantastic way of doing this.”
