Local MP and former business owner Justin Tomlinson, has addressed both the Swindon Chamber of Commerce & the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce at an event sponsored by Barclays.
Justin spoke of recent votes in the House of Commons, including the EU Withdrawal Bill, as well as the work he has been doing both in Swindon and Parliament.
With the economy continuing to grow and employment at a record high, Justin spoke about how important it was – for both sides of the debate - that the Prime Minister is given full support to get the best deal possible ahead of the UKs withdrawal from the EU, without any amendments which could tie her hands behind her back.
The importance of infrastructure spending was also discussed, with members of the chamber throwing their support behind the Governments plans to invest in a Western Rail Link as part of Heathrow expansion, something which Justin has raised in parliament directly with the Secretary of State.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “It was great to sit down with members of the Chamber of Commerce and discuss a wide range of important issues. It is particularly important that the voice of local businesses are heard and I was keen to update everybody on the detail on what is happening in Parliament.”
