North Swindon MP Backs Wildcats For Success After Local Derby Win

Justin Tomlinson MP was delighted to attend the local ice hockey derby between Swindon Wildcats and the Bracknell Bees at the Link Centre on Saturday.

Justin attended along with family and friends who were treated to a feisty game between the two M4 rivals. In the end the game finished a comfortable 5-1 win for the Wildcats, who remain fourth in the table.

The North Swindon MP has a record of supporting sport in the community having successfully campaigned to save the School Sports Partnership, promoted sport in schools, and highlighted the positive role that sport can play in tackling obesity. The Wildcats have supported Justin's efforts and look to be as active as possible in the community themselves through the Wildcats in the Community programme. This community programme features Introduction to Skating Courses, Street Hockey after school clubs and Kidzone which allows children free entry to Wildcats games.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I thoroughly enjoyed the Wildcats game on Saturday. The atmosphere was electric as everybody was cheering the team on to victory. I had come straight from the football game at Swindon Supermarine so it was a jam-packed sporting Saturday, which only goes to highlight the rich variety of sports that we are able to enjoy here in Swindon."
