North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has celebrated another successful year of the Scout’s Christmas Post.
Local Scout Groups co-ordinate a Christmas card delivery scheme every year, selling stamps and delivering cards to raise money for their groups.
The stamps were sold a various locations across Swindon, including Justin’s community office at the Orbital Shopping Park. The cards are also sorted at the community office before being delivered by Scout volunteers.
The initiative raises over £1,000 for the Scouts, which will go towards local Scout Groups and their work helping local young people develop skills and take parts in a range of activities.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “The Scout Christmas Post is a really great fundraiser but the volunteers have to work exceptionally hard to make it happen. I really enjoy supporting the scouts who work really hard every year and it was great to see how well supported it is by local residents.”
