North Swindon MP Encourages Local Residents To Support Charity Fundraiser

North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson, who is also the Minister for Disabled People, has encouraged local residents to get their glad rags on and come along to support Phabkids. Justin will be speaking at the event where there will be a 3-course meal and entertainment – all in order to raise money for this fantastic charity.

Phabkids is a registered charity that was established 60 years ago to encourage and support youngsters with a range of disabilities and complex needs, enabling them to experience and enjoy greater independence and freedom.

The charity makes a big difference to the lives of children and young people themselves but also to families by building confidence, independence and self-esteem, whilst breaking down barriers and creating friendships.

One of the organisers of the event is Lee Bladen who will also be running the 2016 London Marathon in aid of Phabkids. He along with his wife Sarah are selling tickets for the fundraising event which is taking place on Saturday 13 February at the Village Urban Resort on Shaw Ridge Leisure Park (SN5 7DW). Tickets are £30 per person and can be purchased by contacting Sarah on 07815915965 or email sarah.bladen@gwr.com.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “As Minister for Disabled People, I know how crucial these fantastic charities are in helping disabled people to take part in activities and live life to the full. I hope that any Swindon residents who are free on this evening will be able to come along and support their fellow local residents who are raising funds for this fantastic cause.”
