North Swindon MP Joins Government As Minister

North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson, has been appointed as the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Disabled People by the Prime Minister.

His new role takes him to the Department for Work and Pensions where he will work alongside Secretary of State, Iain Duncan Smith.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "I am honoured that the Prime Minister has asked me to work in his Government. This role will coincide with my work as the MP for North Swindon, and local Swindon residents still remain my utmost priority.Disability is an issue which affects millions of people across the UK and it is a privilege to have been given the opportunity to challenge negative attitudes to disability in order to improve social and employment outcomes for disabled people. This role gives me the chance to carry on the good work of the past 5 years, supporting more disabled people into employment, encouraging entrepreneurship, raising aspirations and making sure that disabled people have the same opportunities to realise their potential as non-disabled people."
