North Swindon MP Joins Swindon Croquet Club For Annual Open Day

The sun was out for Swindon Croquet Club’s annual open day, and sports fan & Chair of the APPG for Sport, Justin Tomlinson, was delighted to attend.

Justin chatted to members of the club, which is located in Cheney Manor, and played several games including against South Swindon MP Robert Buckland. Members of the club had also put on refreshments and cakes for all of those who came along to try out the game.

During his time as the Member of Parliament, Justin has visited the club several times and previously helped out with their Sport England bid which resulted in funding for the new clubhouse.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “Joining the Croquet Club to see what they do is one of my favourite visits; not just because all of the members make you feel very welcome, but because it is great to see a club which is run completely by volunteers providing a sociable & active game for people of all ages to play. The membership continues to grow in numbers which is fantastic news and is a testament to how well run the club is. I am very supportive of initiatives that allow people to have active lifestyles and it was a lovely way to spend a Sunday.”
