It was a dash back to Swindon from Parliament on Thursday night for North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson, as he joined members of the Swindon Stroke Support Group for their annual Christmas Party at the Stratton Methodist Church on Ermin Street.
Justin has long been a supporter and fundraiser for the Stroke group which goes to fantastic lengths to support those who have suffered from strokes, as well as their relatives. They provide weekly social evenings which involve a chat, tea and biscuits; a game of cards, dominoes, scrabble, quizzes, bingo and anything else they can think of! They also organise local trips and holidays, all much appreciated by their members.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “The Swindon Stroke Group do a great job in providing a warm and friendly environment for all of its members to get together and enjoy the company and various entertainment that is laid on. After a mad dash back from Parliament, it was fantastic to be greeted by a lively Christmas disco with mince pies and roasted chestnuts – very festive indeed!”
