North Swindon MP Meets Authors Of Insightful Novel About Drug Addiction

Local MP, Justin Tomlinson, has praised the tireless work of authors Julie Rose, and Michelle & Sarah Cowell in a meeting about their honest and straight-talking novel, Tenacity.

Tenacity explores two mothers’ struggle to get their children off drugs, highlighting that addiction can hitting problem that can affect anyone. Julie, Michelle and Sarah hope the story will serve as a deterrent against drugs.

James Frost, a work experience student from New College Swindon, wrote the following article to describe the meeting:

Tenacity is a gripping, hard-hitting novel seeking to help those who have been directly affected by drug addiction, as well as individuals who’ve known a loved one, friend or family member who has suffered in the past.

Filled with passion and honesty, Tenacity depicts the true-life stories from the perspective of mothers Julie and Marilyn of how drug addiction tragically changed the course of their respective son’s lives.

Justin spoke to the authors about their work and their hope that sharing personal and family experiences will allow other sufferers to have someone who they can relate to.

Having already had a lot of success since Tenacity’s publication in January 2016, the trio of writers will continue to share their story with residents in the Swindon area. Having emphasised the importance of educating young people about the dangers of drug addiction in the meeting, the authors plan to visit several local secondary schools in the near future.
