North Swindon MP Meets Even Swindon School Council

The school council at Even Swindon Primary School met with North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson, to learn more about what it’s like being a Member of Parliament & how Parliament works.

Justin met with around twenty children from across the school who had been elected to represent their respective classes. The children eagerly asked questions on a number of topics including; terrorism, President Trump and The Great British Bake Off.

The children also learned about Justin’s experiences as an MP, from eating lasagne with David Cameron to the work he does in Westminster to represent them.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I always enjoy these kind of visits, they are great fun and the children are all so keen to learn about politics. I think it is important to engage with children as early as possible so they understand how important politics is – and maybe inspire some of them to become politicians themselves.”
