Justin Tomlinson MP was on hand to open the newly refurbished McDonald’s restaurant near the Cockleberry roundabout.
The £400,000 refurbishment brings with it a new system in place that means everything is made fresh to order. There is also a new outdoor play area and interactive boards that allow customers to order food.
Franchisee Carl Room, who took over all the Swindon McDonald's restaurants last year, said: “I am thrilled to be opening my new-look restaurant in Swindon today alongside my team. As a local businessman I’m very keen to continue to invest in my community. By staying ahead of customer expectations I want to ensure every customer receives the quickest and strongest service possible. The new technology we’ve introduced recognises the way people live their lives today with choice at the forefront.”
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I am a huge fan of McDonald’s, which employs 750 people across the town. They do a huge amount of work through apprenticeships and career progression. They also do a great deal to provide opportunities for disabled people. and recently took on two people as a result of the Reverse Jobs Fair held in Swindon last month. With that many jobs, and investment, McDonald’s is vital for our growing economy.”
