The Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Sport, Justin Tomlinson MP, has shown his support for the regular sports sessions organised by Swindon Mind and Active Life.
The regular sessions allow those who are suffering from a mental health condition to get out and enjoy all of the benefits that sport offers, including feeling part of a team, focusing the mind, achieving goals and simply getting outside and enjoying some exercise.
The programme is funded by Sport England and the National Lottery and aims to offer access to physical activity for people in Swindon in order to aid wellbeing and support good mental health.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It was great to visit the Be Active programme which is creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can improve their mental health & well-being, reduce stress and anxiety, improve confidence, help with weight loss and improve social life. I am delighted that the power of sport is really making a difference.”
