North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson opened up his constituency office to families of children with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) as they attended a support meeting.
The event was organised by Swindon SEND Families Voice, as part of its Branches Support Group, and saw families of SEND children come together, share experiences and support each other.
The session also had speakers and representatives from various local organisations, such as Hop, Skip & Jump; and SENCO – who were available to answer queries from the families.
Earlier this year the Government announced that young people in Swindon are to benefit from a share of £350 million in additional support for children with Special Education Needs & Disabilities.
The Education Secretary announced that £250 million will be given to local councils over the next two years to provide specialist support and facilities for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
