North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson opened his community office to Swindon Carers Centre for a young carer’s lead meeting.
A number of representatives who lead on young carers for various organisations met at the community office to discuss issues affecting young carers and provide useful feedback to the Swindon Carers Centre.
The group also heard from a representative of Defence Lab, who discussed issues such as bullying; and Swindon Food Collective, who discussed issues around carers on free school meals and how the summer holidays affects them.
There are 21,000 carers in Swindon, and Swindon Carers centre is a charitable organisation established to provide them with help and support.
