North Swindon MP Questions Minister of State for Disabled People

Justin Tomlinson MP took the opportunity during today's Department of Work and Pensions Questions in Parliament to question the Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work on her work with regional stakeholder networks in informing the government's disability policies.

Justin Tomlinson MP asked: "In addition to the minster's vital work with leading health and disabilty charities, can the minister confirm she is fully engaged with the regional stakeholder networks to make sure that a full, diverse range of disability voices has an opportunity to shape government work?"

The Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work, Chloe Smith MP, replied: "I certainly can and my honourable friend makes exactly the correct point here - which is that we need to be able to listen to disabled people and disabled people’s organisations of all shapes and sizes, and that is what will help us come to the right conclusions - for example on the white paper we will be bringing forward in the summer."
