North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson visited Buzz Bingo in the Greenbridge Retail Park to celebrate the UK’s second annual National Bingo Day.
Taking place on Monday 27th June and supported by the Bingo Association, National Bingo Day is the registered awareness day for bingo in the UK that takes place each year on the same day it is celebrated in the USA.
Bingo club operators will be coming together to celebrate the love of the game and everything that makes it fun: people, players, friends, community. After two difficult years over the pandemic, it is great to celebrate the vital role that bingo plays to connect communities across the country.
Across all bingo clubs, a special charity game to raise much needed funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal was hosted, which raised £15,000.
Justin met with the General Manager and other staff to discuss the reopening of bingo clubs last year and how they have fared since, as well as the role of local bingo clubs in the community and the Gambling White Paper which is due to be published in the coming weeks.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It was great to visit Buzz Bingo last Friday and meet with the hardworking team to welcome National Bingo Day. I was very pleased to see the charity bingo game had raised £15,000 for the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal."
