North Swindon MP Visits GWH to Welcome Site Expansion and Improvements

Justin Tomlinson MP spent Friday morning at Great Western Hospital to welcome the latest round of site expansions and meet with the CEO, Kevin McNamara.

Justin was taken on a tour of the site to view the potential site expansion and the new Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) alongside Kevin McNamara (CEO), Julian Auckland-Lewis (Project Manager), and Claire Thompson (Director of Partnership and Improvement).

Following this, Justin joined the official UTC ribbon cutting ceremony alongside Cllrs Curtis Flux and Jenny Jefferies.

Justin was then taken on a tour of the new Radiotherapy Centre with Carol Scott (Radiotherapy Manager), before finally meeting with Kevin McNamara, the CEO of the GWH NHS Trust, to discuss issues constituents had raised in the Primary Care Network (which includes GPs).

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "It was great to be able to visit GWH and see the recent site expansions for the new Urgent Treatment Centre and OUH Radiotherapy Centre. These projects have been a long time coming and with over £33 million of investment into the site, this will safeguard the level of care GWH can give its patients and future-proof the Trust as Swindon continues to grow."
