Nova Hreod Academy were the first school invited by Justin Tomlinson MP to create an art display for his new community office at the Orbital Shopping Centre.
Justin moved into his new constituency office at the end of May and since then, the idea has been to create a real community hub which is there to serve the community of North Swindon. So far, the MP has hosted public meetings, informative drop in sessions and fundraisers for charities.
Now, he aims to invite local schools to visit the office on a quarterly basis and fill up the display with artwork so that the public can admire the talents of local youngsters.
Justin Tomlinson MP said: “The idea is to try and engage local schools in the process of democracy and local representation by familiarising themselves with the role of an MP, what the MPs office does and why democracy is so important. This theme was also linked into the artwork that they created for one of the office walls. I was delighted to welcome some of the pupils to my office and their fantastic artwork is displayed proudly to the community as my office had become a real hub of activity.”
