North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson visited the new Pattern Church on Penzance Drive to learn about their work in the community and their experiences of opening during the coronavirus pandemic.
The building which was formerly the Pattern Store building at the heart of the Swindon Railway Works was taken over by the group and launched in time for December 2018, and has been establishing itself in the community ever since. The team at the Pattern Church is led by Reverend Joel Sales.
After being given an informative tour of the newly renovated £2.1 million building, Justin discussed their strong start despite opening during the coronavirus pandemic. He also discussed their work in the community, their Grow Baby scheme (which provides clothing, toiletries, and equipment for local families in need with babies and toddlers) and their debt advice service for people who need help.
Justin Tomlinson MP said:
“Not only is the newly renovated Pattern Church building looking fantastic and where many local residents worship, it is also an integral part to the local community. I really enjoyed the tour and hearing about the work Pattern Church does in the community.”
