The rain couldn’t dampen Justin Tomlinson MP’s Summer Activities Fair, with hundreds of people visiting the Orbital Shopping Park to enjoy the activities on offer.
Now in its 6th year, the Summer Activities Fair allows local clubs, groups and organisations showcase what they have for families over the summer holiday, as well as giving families ideas for activities to keep their children entertained while the schools are broken up.
A number of groups took part in the fair including Abbey Meads FC, Draycott Sports Camp, Baby Sensory, Rockstar Climbing, Kidz About, and Let’s Create Art Club. Activities at the fair included football skills, arts and crafts, facepainting and balloon animals – and a number of superheroes were also entertaining visitors.
The highlight of the fair was a visit by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service and one of its fire engines, which the children enjoyed exploring.
Justin Tomlinson said: “I always enjoy the Summer Activities Fair and there is always a brilliant atmosphere. I was delighted to see so many people brave the rain to attend the fair and see what these fantastic groups have to offer over the summer.”
