Swindon MP Welcomes Hockey Club To Its New Home

North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson helped welcome Swindon Hockey Club to their new home at a special family day event.

The club has signed an anchor partner agreement with The Deanery Academy, which will see the club use the new school’s pitch and other training facilities.

Swindon Hockey Club is also celebrating its centenary this year and took the opportunity to mark both occasions with a family fun day at their new Deanery Academy home.

Around 350 people attended the event to welcome the club to its new home and enjoy some hockey.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “It was great to see the Hockey Club in their new home, and it was a fantastic start to an incredible sporting weekend – which included the Wimbledon and Cricket World Cup finals, and the British Grand Prix. For the club to reach its centenary is a brilliant achievement, and I had a great time watching people of all ages enjoying themselves and playing hockey.”
