Swindon MPs, Justin Tomlinson and Robert Buckland, have united to celebrate the successful and long-running Swindon School Games.
Part of the national School Games programme, the event held across three local venues featured hundreds of students from across Swindon competing in a vast range of sporting events.
The Government has provided £51 million in funding for the School Games project since its inception. In addition to £150million School Sports Partnership project, which equates to funding a teacher or qualified sports coach in schools for two days a week.
During the event, Justin and Robert were treated to a spectacle of excellent sport, while Commonweal School Band and Wroughton School's Dance Group provided excellent entertainment.
Justin Tomlinson MP said; "It was a privilege to witness first-hand what a continuing success the School Games initiative is here in Swindon. The School Games have once again shown the hard-work and dedication of students and teachers across the town and that the Olympic legacy is alive and strong!"
Robert Buckland MP said: "Yet again students and teachers across Swindon have shown how the power of sport can be harnessed to do amazing things. So many of the young people participating today can be rightly proud of their efforts and who knows - perhaps we have witnessed a future Jessica Ennis-Hill or Greg Rutherford here today"
