Swindon MPs Get Behind Creative Promotional Campaign To Attract More Great GPs To Work In Swindon

Swindon MPs Justin Tomlinson & Robert Buckland have got behind a promotional campaign to attract more GPs to live and work in the town.

Both Justin & Robert have built up a strong, professional relationship with the Swindon CCG (the NHS body composed of clinicians who make important decisions about healthcare in Swindon) and have actively worked alongside its Clinical Chair, Dr. Peter Crouch on a number of projects to improve patient care.

As such, the pair called for a special meeting with CCG & NHS England officials, as well as practice managers from Swindon's GP surgeries, where the future of healthcare and general practice was discussed.

Having previously worked with Dr. Crouch to secure a new radiotherapy centre at the Great Western Hospital and deliver an almost 50% increase in funding for healthcare in Swindon, Justin & Robert pushed to secure funding for the promotional campaign which it is hoped will draw the brightest and best GPs to join their excellent peers who already practice in the town. A similar campaign proved highly effective in Gloucester.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: "This is a fantastic advert for living and working in Swindon. I am delighted that we have managed to secure the funding for this campaign, and that alongside Dr. Peter Crouch & the Swindon CCG, we will be working to bring more of the best GPs to our wonderful town. Thanks to the positive, constructive and forward-thinking relationship both Robert & I enjoy with Dr. Crouch and the CCG, we have already been able to secure a number of major improvements for patients in Swindon, and I have no doubt that this campaign will be another success".
