Swindon MPs Justin Tomlinson and Robert Buckland have nominated 8 groups and individuals to be considered for a prestigious NHS Parliamentary Award.
The NHS Parliamentary Awards was launched in 2018 to celebrate the NHS’ 70 birthday and recognise the outstanding contribution of staff, volunteers and others working in the health and care sector. Now in its fifth year, the awards have been an overwhelming success with over 450 Members of Parliament, representing constituencies in England, nominating an individual or organisation for an award, almost half of all eligible MPs.
The nominations from the two MPs were:
Excellence in Primary Care and Community Services Award
- The Emergency Department Ambulance Hub
Nursing and Midwifery Award
- Hannah Francis
- Tim Allen and Hannah Rogers, Admiral Nurses
Excellence in Healthcare Award
- The High Impact User Group
- The Research and Innovation Team
Excellence in Mental Health Care Award
- Dr Jon Freeman
Health Equalities Award
- Patrick Ismond
Covid Response Award
- The Vaccination Team
After the nomination window closes, the nominations will be sent to the relevant NHS England and NHS Improvement teams for initial sifting. Successful nominations at this stage will then go forward to a regional panel comprised of senior regional NHS England and NHS Improvement representatives.
The regional panels will each choose one nomination in each category to go forward to the national judging panel.
A national judging panel will then score each of the shortlisted nominations and select an overall winner for each category – which will be announced at an awards ceremony in July
