As the Minister for Disabled People, Health & Work, Justin Tomlinson has spoken with the Department of Health & Social Care regarding carers receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Government has recognised the vital role unpaid carers play in caring for vulnerable individuals and they are now inclided on the priority list for vaccination.
This means that unpaid carers that are in receipt of a carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill will be vaccinated alongside priority group 6 if they have not received vaccination as part of earlier age – related priority groupings.
