Swindon Advertiser Column - Post Office Scandal Has Caused Untold Damage

Swindon Advertiser Column - Post Office Scandal Has Caused Untold Damage

The news this week has been dominated by the appalling treatment of sub-postmasters who were accused of theft based on flawed evidence from the Post Office’s Horizon IT system. The recent ITV programme on this has been excellent. These prosecutions have caused untold damage to the lives of innocent people over the past 20 years – leading to some being ostracised by their communities, marriages breaking down, and, sadly, even suicide. This is one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in our his...

Swindon Advertiser Column - Labour Councillors Need To Come Out Of Hiding To Resolve Waste Issue

Swindon has made the headlines this week and for all the wrong reasons. According to the hapless Labour Group who run Swindon Borough Council, the collection rate for waste & recycling is 99%. Talk about living on another planet. My inbox, Robert Buckland MP’s inbox and social media has been flooded with complaints & photos of missed waste sitting on the streets for weeks. Over Christmas, people visiting the cemetery were met with grotesque scenes of overflowing bins which were attractin...
