Swindon Article Weekly Article - 30th May

I have dug out my notepad and pen as my weekly article returns after the purdah period of the local elections.  I had ten very enjoyable years as a Councillor for the Abbey Meads ward prior to being elected as an MP.  I would like to wish all the new Councillors the very best for the opportunity they have been given.  It was a good night for the Conservatives as we increased our majority on Swindon Borough Council, almost unheard for a Party that is also in Government.  This is a real credit to ...

Local MPs Join Forces To Support Drive To Reach Carers Across Swindon

Swindon MPs, Justin Tomlinson and Robert Buckland, have pledged their continued support to carers across Swindon as part of the national awareness campaign Carers Week, which runs from June 9 to 15. One in eight adults are carers, but the very nature of caring - of being there for a loved one facing ill health or disability - means too often people don't identify themselves as carers and, therefore, miss out on support. Without the right help and support, caring can have a serious impact on thei...
