Justin Tomlinson MP Opens Royal Mail Swindon Package Hub

Justin Tomlinson MP today opened the dedicated Royal Mail parcel sort centre in Swindon. The centre is one of eight nationally that open during the Christmas period to handle the major rise in the seasonal volume of parcels due to the ongoing increase in the number of people shopping online. The Stephenson Road, site on the Groundwell Industrial Estate will handle up to 412,000 parcels on the busiest days in the run up to Christmas, employing 300 seasonal staff to sort this by hand.
